Digital Topographical Mapping
The department deals with the Digital Topographical Mapping and Survey which entails base map preparation, cadastral survey, database management and the preparation of the land information system.
- The base map mainly encompasses of the physical and natural features such as contours, existing infrastructure, power post & power lines, cadastral layer and vegetations among others. This forms the bases for the preparation of the spatial plans.
- Cadastral survey entails beaconing of the resultant plots from the approved plans. This is done by use of RTK and GNSS instruments. The beaconed plots data form the bases for the preparation of the survey plans.
Land information system – this is a digital system having Cadaster (spatial) and Land Book (non-spatial data) for each land holding (parcel)
